Sustainability at the Faculty of Biology
Concern is growing in our society about sustainability, environment, biodiversity and climate change. As a Faculty of Biology we consider it as part of our duty to research these topics and to design our research and teaching practice in a more sustainable way. We also want to contribute in making our society more sustainable.
To reach these aims, our Faculty has founded a Sustainability Commission. There are representants from the whole Faculty in the commission (students, academic personal, professors) and they have identified 6 main areas for their action: teaching, research, lab practice, outreach, university and faculty. The commission is inspired by the 17 sustainability development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations.
