The group of Prof. Dr. Urban Friberg is looking for a PhD student in evolutionary genetics interested in contributing to a better understanding of the mechanisms that shape mutation rates.
The project aims to test if the germline and somatic mutation rates in Drosophila act as life history traits and change according to how individuals allocate their resources. It involves quite a bit of fly work, but also DNA extractions and library building, as well as bioinformatics analysis.
